The journal aims to provide a platform for scholars worldwide in the fields of Islamic and Religious Studies to publish their research. Bahawalpur Journal of Islamic Studies adheres to the high academic standards set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.

Primarily, the journal publishes research on various aspects of Islamic learning, literature, culture, contemporary issues in Islamic discourse, and the history of the Muslim world. It also welcomes research articles on Islam and Religion more broadly, particularly those based on Western sources, when the editors find them especially relevant to the journal's objectives.
